Road Trip Part 3

It was so foggy in San Francisco that we didn't even know we were on the Golden Gate Bridge until we were driving right underneath the gates! It was beautiful so of course we had to stop and snap a photo.

Then it was off to Yosemite. Liv found a pinecone as big as her head.

And we of course have to see some of the amazing waterfalls!

All in all it was an incredible week! We are so spoiled!

Road Trip Part 2

Enjoying rainy Seattle.

We stopped at the Aquarium. I loved the octopus he was trying to get out of his tank.

And of course no trip to Seattle is complete without stopping by Pikes Market.

After Seattle we headed down to Mount Saint Helens. Sadly the pass was closed to get up to see it but we did see the visitors center and learned quite a lot! The kids loved the volcano display.

Then it was off to the Redwoods. On our way I couldn't help but stop and take a picture of Paul and Babe.

Oh and Bigfoot.

The Redwoods were absolutely incredible! I kept waiting for a dinosaur to pass by me. They are just so old. Amazing!

Road Trip 2012

Our road trip this year was a lot of fun! We drove through Salt Lake and Boise to get to Seattle. Our first stop was the zoo. Ryan loved the Elephants.

Drew liked leading the way but he had to keep checking the map.

Liv wasn't into monkeying around!

After our visit to the zoo we went to see Mike and Miwa, Josh and Sophie. The kids loved just playing around.

The next day we visited the Science Museum with Sophie (Josh was in school) and that was a great experience for the kids!

Family

Every month we have been trying to get together as a extended family and have an activity. February we had a fun activity of making Minion cupcakes. I loved it!

* So did Lindsey!

Our sweet hostesses with Keena and Liv

Lexie had fun making hers

Bob and Mia would rather chat

Liv made hers all by herself. She would NOT let me help at all!

Thanks Meg and Mal!

Nashville

Keena and I were able to go to a jewelry show in Nashville, Tennesee. It was a first for both of us and can i just say what an experience it was. I think this picture about sums it up.

Ok not really...

We stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and HOLY COW! I can't even explain it. Vegas comes close. Here is Keena and I on our balcony overlooking an indoor garden and waterfall.

Nashville is all about the music. We went and walked down Broadway Street and can I just say the music was rocking! Every door was open with live music being played. It was awesome! I'm not much for the bar scene but give me some great live music and I'm there!

I don't think you can go to Nashville and NOT go to the Grand Ole Opry. I had no idea what it was and was pleasantly surprised by the music. We were ushered in to church style pews and were listening to good ole classic country at first. Mandolins, fiddles, guitars it was amazing and I'm not one for country. We were able to see Casey James who I guess was on last season of American Idol. He was really good. Diamond Rio was the last act and they were just great! You could tell they were comfortable up on stage. Did you know the Opry is broadcasted live on the radio? I sure didn't and so after each set we got to listen to a classy guy in a suit with a great radio voice read his commercials from the sponser. So bizarre! It was a fun experience!

The best band we saw was Tin Cup Gypsy which were performing in a Irish Pub that we decided to eat at on our first night there. The food was Delicious and the entertainment was phenom! I even bought their CD (which I don't do ever!)

We were able to get a closer look at Nashville on a Segway tour that Aunt Nan talked us into. I had never ridden a Segway and boy was I nervous!! It isn't hard but I was nervous the whole time worried my little Segway would either buck me off or drive away with me unable to stop. Thankfully nothing like that happened.

We also had a lot of fun at the show but this trip was all about the music! Good times!

Zion

Now that we have our Sunday afternoons back we have been taking advantage and going out as a family to enjoy our weekend. Today was Zion's. It was magnificent! A little chilly but with snow on the peaks of the mountains it gave it a new look. We hiked to Emerald Pool and only made it to the first but that is progress! We haven't done that one so it was a nice change. The kids really liked it (as you can tell from the funny faces!) We also drove through the long tunnel and slowed at the windows since there wasn't anyone behind us. What a beautiful day!

Panaca

To celebrate Celeste's birthday we went out to Panaca for a visit. While there we went to Cathedral Gorge and it was incredible! We are already planning our trip back with Grandpa McArthur to explore more of the caves. Keena and I are too woosy to actually go too far back into them.

It was a short trip but super fun! Nick and James ended up going out shooting so no pictures of them. What a great day!

Cousins

We have been lucky enough to have Bob and Malea join us from Provo permanently! Drew turned 6 and we had a lot of fun with ice cream cone cupcakes, presents, and lots of friends! In a spontaneous trip Celeste and James came down and so we had a lot of cousins playing together! They are so cute so I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

New Year, New Post!

The Christmas season is finally over and I can blog again! The boys went with Grandpa Larson and cut down his tree.

Miss Liv and I were able to go see The Nutcracker. She loved it! I'm glad to take her but I'm not a big fan.

Christmas came and the children were spoiled. Ryan got a Mechatar (I still don't know what it is). Drew got an easel so he can color with markers or chalk. Liv got a Rapunzel doll.

We rang in the New Year with cupcakes from 25 Main and mustaches!

And what better way to celebrate New Years Day than with Strawberry Waffles and Whip Cream!

Here is to a New Year and me keeping up with the blog! Next post My Goals for this year!
