We were able to surprise the kids with a trip to Disneyland this past week. We left Sunday afternoon telling them we were going to Las Vegas to see Nick's mom. Well turned out she had to work and so we stopped at Caesar's Palace and watched the scary statue show. None of the kids were impressed so we took off for "home" but really were headed to our hotel. Lucky for us we were delayed for an hour and a half right outside of Primm (still have no idea why traffic was stopped). We arrived in California and fell asleep.
When everyone woke up the next morning we asked them what they wanted to do that day. Swimming was the top of their list until we suggested the happiest place on earth. Ryan's eyes go wide and a smile stretches ear to ear. He couldn't even speak. Loved it. Drew was still going through his wake up routine so he just nodded along but once we got to the park he was bouncing around everywhere.
Our hotel was only about a quarter mile from the park so we walked over there and hit up Disneyland first. Fantasyland is so classic! I love it! Snow White, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Alice.
Ryan was brave enough to try Splash Mountain (his favorite), Haunted Mansion (my favorite), Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Drew loved the Winnie the Pooh ride and the Heimlich Caterpillar Train ride. Liv loved Dumbo.
The days flew by without too many tantrums and the boys were able to meet Mickey (Liv's Favorite), Goofy, Pluto (Drew's Favorite), Cruella (My Favorite), Incredibles, Lilo, Mushu, Frozone (Ryan's Favorite).
Ryan was picked to be in the Jedi Training Academy and was able to fight Darth Maul. He did so well!
The boys were also to dance with Pinocchio in the parade and join the Conga Line.
After the wonderful time at Disney we went to the beach and enjoyed watching the waves. It was still cool and the water was cold but Liv stood in the oncoming waves and sang and talked to the ocean. She must have been a mermaid in a previous life!

That looks like so much fun! Sadie asks us to take her to Disneyland everytime she sees a commercial for it. Maybe some day...
I'm glad my kids have never been to Disneyland so they have no idea what they're missing and never ask to go there.
Yep, that's how I parent. Don't take the kids anywhere fun, then they'll never find out about those places.
They think Walmart is the happiest place on earth.
They had such a blast! It has been so fun to hear the boys rave about it, even after being home for a few days. A jedi? and dancing in a congo line? I am impressed they would not be afraid to join in the fun! Three cheers for successful family trips! Huzzah!
Looks like you had fun!! Jared and I get to go next week. He has never been and I have a feeling he is going to turn into a little kid when we get there. Should be pretty entertaining :)
